Dorothy B. Watts, daughter of the late Christopher Howlett and Nellie Ellen Williams, was born on May 24th in Pittsburgh, PA. At a young age, Dorothy and her family took up residence in Trenton, NJ, where she was educated in the New Jersey school system. She later moved to CT, where she remained all of her adult life.

Dorothy was the backbone of her family, who ruled with integrity, love, faith, respect, and pride. She was a home maker, peace maker, politician, and mom to all who came through her door. She is commonly referred to as “Ma” by many family and non-family members. To know Dorothy meant knowing a special person. She was a force to be reckoned with in the in the kitchen, and on the dance floor. Though small in stature, she was large with presence. She lived a wonderful live full of love, family, and happiness. Dorothy was an inspiration to several generations, and was the epitome of class. She was truly a blessed woman, who was full of life.

Left to cherish her memories are her Ten loving children; Yvonne Greene-Chester (Fonz), Vivian Ellis, Laura Watts, Ivy Davis, Deborah Bowen, Patricia Bost (Randy), Ivette McQueen (Ralph), Austin Watts Jr. (Gail), Vincent Watts, and Ronald Watts, sister-in-law; Margaret Howlett, god son Edward Beverly, a myriad of grand-children, great grand-children, great great grand-children including, but not limited to, grand daughter Barbara Walker, former Alder Person, and grandson David Watts, City Councilman, Norwalk, CT, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Those that preceded her death were here spouse Austin Charles Watts, brothers; Robert Brooks, Charles and Vincent Williams, Frankie, David, Chris, and William Howlett, sisters; Laura Monroe, Marion Hall, Delores Howlett, and Shirley Daniels, grandsons, Anthony Bost, and Ronald K. Jones (Tory), and great grandson Charles WIlliams Jr. (CJ).220 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven Tuesday Jan. 17th at 11:00 AM.
