Dorothy Arlene Hunt, 75, of Walker, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, January 17, 2014. She was born on October 22, 1938 in White, Pennsylvania the daughter of Harry and Martha (Barnes) Christman. Dorothy grew up in Smock, PA and later graduated from Uniontown High School in the summer of 1956. Later that year she was united in marriage to George William Hunt, III on November 17, in Melrose Park, IL. Dorothy worked for Ah-gwah-ching treatment center as a nurse for 30 years. She and George also owned Fisher’s Point Resort for 15 years and Leech Lake Lanes bowling alley. Dorothy took pride in delivering meals on wheels, being active in the church and spending time with her grandchildren. You could see a glimmer in Dorothy’s eye when she would take her grandchildren out on the pontoon.
Dorothy joins her family waiting for her who includes her parents Harry and Martha, sisters Anna and Carolyn, and one brother Wilbur.
Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years George, sons; George Hunt, IV and his wife Rachael of Brooklyn Center, MN, Dave and his significant other Becky Adair of Ames, IA, and Ron and his fiancé’ Lisa Ramirez of Farmington, MN, daughter; Cindy and her husband Bob Nies of Breezy Point, MN, brother; Edward Christman and his wife JoEllen of San Diego, CA, grandchildren; Jennifer, Roshelle, George V, Christopher, Brittany, Breana, Aleyna, Andrew, Jessica and Amanda, great grandchildren Hayden, Joshua, and Isaac. Other relatives and many friends.
