Age 83, a longtime resident of Trumbull, CT passed away in her home, surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday Feb 20th after a long illness.
Dorothy was born in 1938 in Bridgeport, CT to Mary and Anthony Drewelus. She lived in Fairfield with her parents and younger brother, Tom Drewelus, where she later graduated high school.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Thomas Murren, son, Russell Bulkley, grandsons Kyle and Ryan Bulkley, and Donny Whitman. Also, step children Tommy Murren, Michael Murren, Erin LaManna, Susan Stamper, Patrick Murren, Margaret McGrath and many step grandchildren. Dot or DD, as she was affectionately known by, was the glue that held the family together. She could always be relied on for hosting spectacular family functions; great pride was taken in her cooking and meticulousness in everything she did.
A very active person, she enjoyed playing golf with her husband, and in various women’s leagues at Mill River Country Club and Tashua Knolls Golf Course. In the winters, her favorite activity was downhill skiing. Weekend ski trips were a fun family event for many years in Massachusetts and Vermont.
