Dorothy Ann (Law) Reed (known to all as Dot), was a native of Salipta, AL and a resident of Killeen, TX. She was born to the parentage of the late Tucker Law and the late Clementine (Stewart) Law on June 27, 1951 in Clarke County, AL.
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10: 9-10
Dot accepted Christ as her savior in her 20’s and was an active and devoted member of the Springfield A.M.E. Zion Church in Salipta, AL. She attended services regularly and served several positions over the years, as follows: Adult Sunday School Teacher, ACE in the Christian Education Department, Vice Chair of Trustee Board and member, Coordinator of the Young Adult Missionary Society (YAMS), Preacher’s Steward, member of the Board, Class Leader, Leader of Leaders, Lay Council President, Choir President, Culinary Chair, member of other adhoc committees, sang in the Springfield A.M.E. Zion Church Choir, and as a member of the Angelic Stars Gospel group for 33 years, until her move to Killeen, TX when her health began to fail. She retired after more than 25 years of employment at Vanity Fair and always had an outgoing personality; She never met a stranger and would always take the time to witness about the goodness and mercy of Jesus Christ. Anytime, and anywhere! Wherever her heart felt a need to ‘lift fallen humanity’, she was there.

After a 3-year bout with Cancer, Dot answered the Father’s call to enter eternal rest on Friday, December 21, 2018. She was 67 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Reed, parents Clementine (Stewart) Law and Tucker Law, sisters Marie Law and Arletha (Lisa) Morris-Howze, brother Melvin Law Sr. and devoted nephew Tawaski Law.
She will be loved and cherished forever in the memories of her daughter Jimetha Shoemo (John Vallejo) of Killeen, TX, Marlan Collins of Mobile, Alabama, step-daughter Tawanna Norwood, three grandchildren: Dekiston Davis of Austin, TX, Jaylen Darrington of Killeen, TX and Madelyne McConico of Leroy, Alabama, 2 great-grand children, Khloe Davis and Landon Davis of Austin, TX, three sisters, Pauletta McMillian, Good Hope Community, Rosie Allen, Selma, AL, Angela Bowen, Montgomery, AL TX; two brothers, Alvin (Cheryl) Morris, Good Hope Community, and Bishop Theodore (Mary Lynn) Law, Zimco, AL; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Rachel Jackson, Salipta Alabama, Mary Alice Jackson, Jackson, AL, Shelia (Elbert) McCants, Toddtown, AL, Elizabeth (Liz) Burrell, Jackson, AL and Patricia &Jerry Adams of Jackson, AL.
