Dorothy A. Kissel, 88, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022 at her home, surrounded by love and family. Dorothy was born on April 20, 1933 in Grass Creek, Indiana to the late Carl Britton and Minnie Belle (Little) Britton.

She married her best friend Paul Gault Kissel Jr. on July 7, 1978 at Castle United Methodist Church. Paul passed on April 22, 2006.

Surviving is a son Bill (Nancy) Pittman; three grandchildren Regina T. (Rocco) Caraballo, Matthew (Michelle) Pittman, Bryce Pittman; six great grandchildren; a brother Fred Britton; and two sisters Elvira (Marvin) Wilsey and Patricia (Al) Kukala. In addition to her parents and husband Paul; a daughter Debra S. Pittman and a brother Jerry Britton, preceded her in death.

Dorothy graduated in 1951 from Elkhart High School. After graduation she began working at Miles Laboratories, starting on the Alka Seltzer Line, and retiring after 45 years from operations in the Diagnostic Division. Dorothy was a longtime and active member of Faith United Methodist Church in Goshen. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Four Arts Club and Elkhart Moose Lodge #599. She served as a past secretary of SOAR (Steel Workers Organization of Active Retirees.) Dorothy was an avid reader, she enjoyed baking, gardening, and flowers. She loved cards games, especially euchre, and ran many games and tournaments with Paul at the Knights of Columbus.
