Dorothy A. Fanning, 80 years, of Jacksonville, IL died Monday morning, November 13, 2006, at Barton W. Stone Home in Jacksonville. She was born April 7, 1926, in Winchester, IL; the daughter of Robert and Margaret Leitze Woodall. She married Bill L. Fanning on January 31, 1948, and he preceded in death on December 8, 1980.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Kennedy (husband, Bob) of Effingham; a son, Richard J. Fanning (wife, Janet) of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Laura and Julie Kennedy of St. Charles, MO, and Audra and Wade Fanning of Jacksonville; two sisters, Marge Duff (husband, Everett) of Salt Lake City, Utah and Barbara Haggard of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert William Fanning on November 5, 1949, and a sister, Jean Likes.
Mrs. Fanning was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and served as corporate secretary of Fanning Oil Company in Jacksonville for many years. She was a member of Central Christian Church and a former member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
