Dorothea Janet (Weaver) Duarte, age 80, went to be with the Lord on January 24, 2015. She was the daughter of Martha (Ridge) and Harold Weaver. She was born in Bridgeport on February 26, 1934, and was daughter to the late Harold and Martha Ridge Weaver. She was raised in Bridgeport, but always held dear her memories of summers spent in PA when she was young. Dorothea was married to the late Caesar Duarte and they had 4 children. After the early death of her husband Dorothea worked very hard to purchase her first home in Milford and provide for her children. She worked for many years at both Remington Arms and Dresser Industries.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved son, Ricky Duarte; her loving daughter and devoted caregiver, Penny Cogar; her daughter-in-law, Mary Duarte; her grandsons, Larry, Guy, and Steven Duarte; and her precious great grandchildren, Alexander, Claire, and Evelyn Duarte. She is also survived by her brothers Harold and Lockwood Weaver, and her special Aunt Dot Haines, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, Dorothea was predeceased by her daughter Cindy Duarte and her son Guy (Butch) Duarte.
