Dorothea Elizabeth Rose, 87 of Howell, passed from this life peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. Dottie was born January 27, 1934 in Kewanee, Illinois to the late Ralph Zuniga and Louise Walsh Zuniga. She was a loving wife and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She spent her early years in Charleston, Ill as the second of four children. In 1959, Dottie and her husband settled in New Jersey.

Dottie lived in Woodbridge, NJ for 32 years and worked at the First Presbyterian Church, Woodbridge. Dottie loved to cook and her famous chocolate pie, chocolate cake and home made biscuits will forever be missed. She always looked forward to her annual family reunions with her parents, sisters, brother and extended families in Illinois. Her summers were also filled with visits by her Mother and they both enjoyed trips to attend the numerous game shows in Manhattan where Dottie got a big thrill meeting the game show hosts and getting their autographs. After her husband passed Dottie traveled to spend extended time with her sisters. For the past 12 years she lived in Brandywine Assisted Living Facility in Howell where she made many friends.

She was an avid baseball fan of the Mets and in her early years she and her son attended many games at Shea Stadium. The love of baseball carried over to her time at Brandywine as she always looked forward to the annual trip to the Lakewood Blue Claws to enjoy baseball and a hotdog. Dottie is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Robert Rose and sisters Veronica Zuniga and Phyllis Gonzalez.

Dottie is survived by her son Harry Rose and his wife Nancie of Jackson; grandchildren Kaitlin Lang and husband Steve, Kellie Senske and husband Dan; great grandchildren Henry Lang and Abigail Senske; and brother, Paul Zuniga of Charleston, Ill along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
