Doris V. Carr, age 89 of Freeport, IL, died on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport after a brief Illness.
Born on October 23, 1930 in Davis. She was the daughter of Mae Bottorf and Robert Leverton.
On April 6, 1972 she married the love of her life, James B “Jim” Carr in Galena.
She was employed by Cub Foods until retiring in 1998. She loved spending time with her husband Jim at their cabin, doing some fishing and having cookouts with family and friends. She continued to spend time there with her granddaughter Misi Bowen for several years after Jim’s passing. She enjoyed reading and spending time with family. She especially loved having her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren visit and spending time with them.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia (Paul) Tessendorf of Wisconsin, Michelle Bowen (Danny Spies) of West Virginia, Lynn Plata and Sue Jones of Freeport, daughter-in-law Sheri Ashely of Lanark, whom she loved as her own daughter, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Carr, a son David Ashley, both parents, two sisters, one brother and a great grandson Zarin Lamm.
