Doris (Potthoff) Talbot, 85, of Woodbridge, VA, formerly of Peru, passed away April 12, 2013 at Emeritus Assisted Living in Woodbridge.

Mrs. Talbot was born October 21, 1927 in Peru to John and Henrietta (Beutler) Potthoff. She married William R. Talbot on September 17, 1950 at Zion United Church of Christ in Peru. Mrs. Talbot was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School, was a homemaker and worked for the News Tribune for over 25 years. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Peru where she served as a Sunday School teacher. Along with her husband, she was active in Scouting and in Boy Scout Troop 11 in Peru. She was the caretaker for her brother for 12 years when he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Survivors include her sons, Lt. Col. John Talbot and his wife, Betsy of Indianapolis, IN and Hon. Gary Talbot and his wife, Maureen who was Doris’ caretaker, of Woodbridge, VA; six grandchildren, Andrew, Patrick and Karen Talbot and Nicholas, William and Laura Talbot and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William on December 26, 1979; her brothers, Ralph, Herman, Phillip, Robert, Leroy and Walter Potthoff and two in infancy and her sister, Sally Hall.
