Mrs. Doris Shields Stark, age 89, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Judge Ronald M. Stark, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2010 in CT Hospice, Branford.
Daughter of the late John R. and Ann Coss Shields, she was born on June 10, 1920 in Derby, CT. She was a graduate of St. Joseph College in West Harford. Doris retired as a Latin Teacher for the Derby High School, and in later years taught English and History at St. Mary’s Parochial School in Milford. She enjoyed playing the piano, reading, and swimming.
Survivors include her devoted daughters and sons, Judith Stark-Davis of Monroe, Mary Beth Stark of Easton, Patricia Stark of Orange, Ronald M. Stark Jr. of Minnesota, Douglas M. Stark, and Peter R. Stark, both of Milford, and six grandchildren, Henry, Michael, Kathleen, Anna, and Molly Stark and Alexander Stark Kovalsky. She also leaves her sister, Rosalie Thorsen of Cumberland, RI, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Deborah and her brother, John Shields.
