Doris R. Prall
Doris Rae Mattox-Prall, 82, of Caldwell, went to be with her Lord Saturday, September 10, 2011 at a Boise hospital of natural causes.
Doris was born April 25, 1929 to Eddie and Alice Mattox in Sargent, Nebraska. Her family moved to the farming community of Fargo, Idaho in 1933. Later they moved to Marsing, Idaho where she attended school.
Doris and Tom lived throughout Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and California before returning to Boise in 1960; then Meridian in 1963, and finally settling in Caldwell in 1990.
She enjoyed being a wife and mother for many years before entering the work field. She worked at Montgomery Wards, Swifts, JR Simplots, JC Pennies, and in the Meridian School Lunch Program until her retirement in 1990. She loved doing things with her family and friends like camping, fishing, and traveling in their RV. She served as the Idaho State Women’s Commander of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary from 1988-1989 and as Unit Commander and Chaplin for the DAV Unit 13 of Nampa 2005-2010.
