Doris Maxine (Stickler) Groninger, age 87 of Midland passed away Tuesday evening, March 19, 2013, at Brittany Manor.
She was born April 6, 1925, in Warsaw, Indiana, the daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Treva (Borket) Stickler. On July 28, 1946, she married Walter Eugene Groninger, Jr., who survives.
Maxine was a long-time Warsaw, Indiana resident, and Mentone High School graduate. She was a beauty culturist and worked in Portland, IN, and Warsaw, IN. The Groningers moved to Midland in August of 2004.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Warsaw Indiana and of the United Methodist Women, Ruth Circle, Kosciusko County Auxiliary, Grand Matron of the Rebecca Lodge of Warsaw, and Red Hats of Warsaw and Midland. Maxine was also president of a book club for many years in Warsaw.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; sons, Gregory Duane (Carol) Groninger of Midland and Bruce Alan Groninger of Ottawa, Kansas; two grandsons, Edward (Anita) Groninger and Tim Groninger; two great-grandsons, Riley and Lane Bradley and great-granddaughter, Madelyn Victoria Groninger.
