Doris Macfarlane Corry, 84, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020 in Layton, UT surrounded by family. She was born May 30, 1935 in Cedar City, UT to Wallace Franklin and Genevieve Chamberlain Macfarlane. She married Rulon Daniel Corry on August 1, 1953 in the St. George Temple. They were blessed with 5 children.
Doris loved her career working in the Box Elder School District. She was employed as the Title 1 Director for many years. She had a special place in her heart reserved for the children she met and helped educate.
Doris had many talents and passions including her love of music, opera and playing the cello in the orchestra. She was a sports enthusiast and loved reading, especially children’s books. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs. Her home was an actual Heaven on earth where her many grandchildren loved to come and stay.
She was a strong and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and accepted and served diligently in the many callings she was asked to fulfill. Her testimony was strong, and she continued to share it with those around her until the end of her mortal life.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Rulon Daniel Corry, her son, Bradley Dan Corry, Her parents Wallace Franklin Macfarlane and Genevieve Macfarlane and her grandson, Sean Scott Corry.
Surviving are her children: Scott Wallace Corry (Jill), Anne Francell Petersen (Gary), Kristin Asay (Mark) and Alisa Larsen (Layne);17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and she is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Hansen.
