Doris M. Leffingwell
Norwich – Doris M. Leffingwell, 82, formerly of 490 West Main St. died Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Greentree Manor in Waterford, CT.
She was born in Norwich on September 9, 1932 daughter of the late William and Mary (Bortolucci) Yohe. Mrs. Leffingwell was a graduate of Norwich Free Academy, Class of 1951. Doris was united in marriage to Frederick W. Leffingwell on May 18, 1960. Mr. Leffingwell predeceased his wife of 45 years on May 2, 2006.
Doris was a member of the Norwich Democratic Town Committee, Italian Women’s Club and the Red Hat Society. She retired after many years, from the Norwich State Hospital.
Mrs. Leffingwell is survived by her children, William Leffingwell and his wife Marie of Ledyard, Thomas Leffingwell and his wife Laurie of Killingworth, Jill Quinn and her husband Tim of Oakdale and Judy Leffingwell of Norwich, her grandchildren, Nina Smith, Joe Quinn, Anthony and Joe Yarborough, James, Christopher and Leah Leffingwell.
Doris was predeceased by two brothers, William Yohe and Ernest Yohe and one sister, Laura Simpson.
