SHILOW, DORIS MARY, of Glen Burnie, MD died on March 2, peacefully at home. She was 87. Doris was born in Baltimore in June 1926 to the late Charles and Mary Evans. She was a devoted wife to Warren M. Shilow for 54 years until his death in 2001 and a loving mother to her daughters, Nancy and Mary. Doris spent the early years being a homemaker and raising her children. She often said those were the happiest days of her life. She returned to the workforce and became a State Employee working at the State House in Annapolis, Maryland retiring in 1988. She received several citations from the Governors office for her work during those years. Doris will be remembered for her goodness to her family, her kindness to everyone, her love of music, books and reading, her beautiful voice and how she could whistle like a Canary. She will be greatly missed on earth but God has a new angel for his choir.Doris is survived by her daughters Nancy Duncan (husband Chuck) and Mary Gray (husband David). Her Granddaughters (who affectionately called her “Grammy”), Katie Kenny (husband Patrick), Maire Duncan, Jennifer Carter (husband Billy), Corey Gray and Chelsea Gray. Her great-grandson, Sean Patrick Kenny. And her dear sisters Jenny Emory and Shirley Caple.
