Doris M (Hoy) Gately, wife of the late Richard S.Gately died December 13,2016 at the age of 93. Doris grew up in Brighton, MA. Doris and Dick raised their children in Danvers, MA an retired to Brewster, MA. Doris was an avid tennis player, a home seamstress and as her children will attest, a great cook. She and Dick were active members of St Mary’s couples club while in Danvers as well as active members of Our Lady of the Cape in Brewster, MA participating in the “Respite” program. Doris donated many hours helping to prepare meals for the Brewster Meals on Wheels program over several years while on the Cape 13 years ago the Gatelys moved to Brooksby Village to be near their grandchildren. Doris is survived by her daughters, Joanne Gately of Revere MA, Martha McCarthy and her husband Ronald of Ipswich MA, Sarah Cutter and her husband David of Essex and Barbara Gately of Vancouver, WA. She is also survived by her grandsons Alex McCarthy of South Boston and Connar McCarthy of Ipswich.
