Doris Whitehead Lancaster was born on October 3, 1927 in Smiley, Texas. She left to be with the Lord and her beloved Clyde on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Doris was one of eight daughters born to Emma and William Whitehead. She and her twin sister Dorothy were the youngest children and the stories of their mischief growing-up are endless. Doris married Clyde Lincoln Lancaster on August 19, 1944 in San Antonio. They resided in Boerne for sixty years. Grump, as she was known by her seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and close family members, was a homemaker for many years. She also enjoyed several jobs outside the home including working for Weiner”s clothing store in San Antonio and demonstrating products for HEB in Boerne. In everything she did there was always a comic story to be told at the end of the day. She and Clyde spent many hours driving around Texas and exploring restaurants.
