Doris Louise Mellon, 86, of Lafayette, passed away at IU Arnett Hospital on February 15, 2022, after fighting a courageous battle with dementia.
Doris was born on January 10, 1936, in Montgomery County, to the late Walter and Edna Tribbett. She graduated from Bowers High School in 1954.
Doris married Jack D. Mellon on May 23, 1954, and he survives. Doris is also survived by her son, Denny Mellon (Becky); daughter, Kim Emerick; grandchildren Scott Mellon (Jill), Mark Mellon (Nicole), Melissa Hash (Wes), Earl Emerick (Nicole), Sarah Emerick (Eli); and great grandchildren Reece Mellon, Easton Mellon, Palmer Hash, Maddox Mellon, Evan Emerick, McCoy Mellon, Dempsy Hash. She was preceded in death by her great grandson, Emerson Hash, and brother Max Tribbett.
Doris worked as an administrative assistant for her husband’s CPA firms for 19 years in Lafayette and 12 years in Naples, FL. She was also employed and volunteered for various churches in Naples, FL. Doris was a member of West Point UMC. She was a very active member of American Business Womens Association. Doris enjoyed family, friends, and traveling.
