Mrs. Doris (Splittstoesser) Koehler, 92 of Peru, passed away December 30, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Koehler was born on April 9, 1922 in Peru to Fred and Lottie (Stauch) Splittstoesser. She married Clyde J. Koehler on May 4, 1945 at Zion united Church of Christ in Peru. She worked at Westclox in Peru, Green River Ordinance and Stewart Warner Inspectors. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, the churches women’s guild, Sunday school teacher and was a Girl Scout Leader Volunteer.
She is survived by one son, Gerald Koehler of Peru; two daughters, Terri (Lawrence) Short of Oglesby and Debra Miller of Oglesby; 4 grandchildren, Patrick Short, Steven Short, Lindsey Gardner and Allison Miller; 9 great-grandchildren; nieces, great-nieces; great-nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Donald Koehler in infancy; and one brother, Howard Splittstoesser. Pallbearers will be Patrick Short, Steven Short, Allison Miller, Bill Vlastnik, Gary Splittstoesser, Nicholas Gardner and Bob Walker.
