Doris Jean (Scott) Stevens, age 82, of Jewell Mobile Acres, Grafton, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at the residence of her son, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Stevens was born January 4, 1929, in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late Wilmer L. Scott and Lela G. (Fornash) Scott. Her husband Theadore Roosevelt Stevens preceded her in death January 5, 2007.
Mrs. Stevens was retired and had worked at the former Jenkins Cleaners. She was an honorary member of the Taylor County Emergency Squad where she was a lifetime EMT. She was a member of the former Grafton Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a beloved mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are: five sons, Theadore “Teddy” Stevens and wife Leona, of Clarksburg, Paul Stevens, Jimmy Stevens, Phil Stevens and wife Cheryl, Randy Stevens and wife Linda, all of Grafton; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and six step great grandchildren; three sisters, Carolyn Gordon, of Mannington, Sarah Ford and husband Larry, and Betty Griffith, both of Clarksburg; one brother, Kenneth Scott; three sisters-in-law, Francis Reed, of Grafton, Evelyn Sellers, of Manassas, CO, and Helen Shingleton, of Taylor County.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by: three brothers, Dick Scott, and twin brothers, Donald and David, in infancy; and one daughter-in-law, Sandra K. Stevens.
