Doris Jean Phillips Sharpe
On Dec 8th at 1am, Doris Jean Phillips Sharpe (age 83) peacefully won her battle with cancer and walked whole and fully healed into the arms of her Savior and joined hands with our Dad to see all the wonder and beauty that heaven holds!!
A native of Alamance County, she was the loving wife of the late Jimmy Gordon Sharpe and the daughter of Grover Cleodore and Beulah Keck Phillips, both deceased. She worked for Burlington Industries and retired from WestPoint Stevens. Doris was member of New Covenant Fellowship Church where she was on the planning team for the Joy Ministry.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Dale Sharpe of Manson, NC and Stephen Craig Sharpe(Deena) of St. Simons Island, GA; a daughter, Tanya Sharpe Huneycutt(Johnny) of Albemarle, NC; eight grandchildren, Heather, Stephanie and Ryan Sharpe, Jamie(Anna), Brandon(Darlynn) and Kaci Sharpe and Phillip(Katelyn) and Richard Huneycutt; one Great grandson, Wyatt Sharpe; brother, Melvin Phillips of Graham; sister, JoAnn Poore of Wilmington, DE; sister-in-law, Kay Black and a brother-in-law, Larry Sharpe(Bonnie).
Our family would like to express our gratitude to our loving cousin, Michelle Rector, Dr Zhou Yu and the staff of Alamance Regional Cancer Center, the staff of Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell, Pastor David Neff and mom’s countless friends for their loving acts of kindness and support during her illness. We love you and will be forever grateful to you all.
