Doris Jean (Judy) Hale, 90, Huntington, IN, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Markle Health & Rehabilitation, Markle, IN. Doris was born on November 11, 1930, in Richmond, KY, to Ray and Bulah Judy. Doris married Dr. Robert E. Hale in 1953, and they enjoyed 65 years of marriage until his passing on March 27, 2019.
Doris graduated Valedictorian of her high school class in Cambridge City, IN. Doris attended Ball State University and earned a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Doris ran a private nursery school, Carolot, for 25 years. She was a member of Central Christian Church and the Huntington Chapter of the DAR.
Doris is survived by four daughters, Linda Urschel, Sharon Griner, both of Huntington, IN, Nanette (Mark) Urschel, Shelbyville, KY, Jane (Mike Harris) Varney, Huntington, IN; a sister and two brothers; 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Marie Hale; two sons-in-law, Jim Varney, Michael Urschel; one brother, and two infant grandchildren, Ian Hale Griner and Baby Urschel.
