Doris Jean Joy Walters Parks, 84, of Jacksonville, IL, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing.
She was born Nov. 7, 1936, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Warren Drake and Myrtle Margaret McLaren Joy.
She was married to John W. Walters from 1953 to 1978. She was then married to Floyd Parks from 1984 to 2001. She is survived by two sons and one daughter, John A. Walters, Pamela K. Walters (Dennis) Fox, and Craig W. Walters; six grandchildren; one brother, Don Joy; and one sister, Lois Hamm. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Jeanette DeFrates; and one brother, William “Bill” Joy.
Doris worked at Kmart in Jacksonville until its closing, and then worked for Kirlin’s until her retirement.
