Doris J. Maddox Corey, age 93, of Newnan, GA passed away peacefully at her home on December 31, 2021.
Doris was born on November 13, 1928 in Atlanta GA to the late Joe Spencer Turner and Mary Gladys Tribble Turner. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her children’s father, Thomas Wesley Maddox, husband Thomas Jack Corey, and sister, JoAnn Cribb.
Doris loved her family, including her little dog, Starr. Doris was an accomplished piano teacher and church pianist for many years. After retiring from her piano duties, she co-owned a Merle Norman studio and later a restaurant with her husband, Jack Corey, Corey’s Buffeteria in Griffin, GA.
Doris is survived by her children, Tommy “TJ” (Ann) Maddox, Bonnie (Greg) Green; grandchildren Jody Maddox, Glenn Wesley (Kaye) Howell, Sean (Alena) Green, Amy (Eric) Miller, and Jennifer Green; great-grandchildren Josey, Savannah, Eleanor, Riessa and Wesley, as well as extended family and friends.
