Doris Jane Smith Maddox, 86, New Castle, died November 10, 2005 at Henry County Memorial Hospital-New Castle after a brief illness.
She was born July 3, 1919 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in New Castle, Indiana. She lived in the Anderson/New Castle area all of her life except for the 27 years she wintered in Louisiana. She retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors after 33 years of service.
She was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband whom she married December 24, 1971: Lester J. Maddox. Son: Jerry L. & wife Linda Thompson of Pendleton. Stepson: John & wife Ginger Maddox of Connersville. Stepdaughter: Linda Winter of New Castle. Grandchildren: Jerry B. & wife Debbie Thompson of Anderson, Greg & wife Dawn Thompson of Anderson, Jeff Thompson, Tim & wife Denise Thompson of Fishers, Cindy & husband Mike Ballinger, Laura & husband Chad Friend, Cari & husband Ron Romine, Jodi Winter and Jimmy Norfleet. Great Grandchildren: Kari Thompson, Kelli Thompson, Stephanie Thompson, Dorian Thompson, Elizabeth Thompson, Andrea Thompson, Aaron Ballinger, Ashton Baker, Kyra Baker, Kaden Friend, Lauren Friend, Brenna Friend and Zachary Dilk. Great Great Grandchild: Mackenzie Thompson. Several Nieces & Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband: William ”Tony” Thompson in 1968. Brothers: Roland Smith, Jack Smith, Harold Smith and Voyle Smith. Sister: Mary Lou Webb. Several Nieces & Nephews.
