Doris Jean Boggs Lloyd, of Ferndale, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014, after a long battle with diabetes, heart and renal disease. Doris was born, June 11, 1933 to the late Herman and Rosella “Maude” Boggs in Cumberland, MD.

Doris graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1951 and married Jack shortly thereafter. Together they raised three sons. Over the years Doris supported a number of sports booster programs, and served, for a period as a Den Mother in Cub Scouts. In addition she worked for many years at a number of companies and organizations, most notably, the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration, from which she retired in 1994. She was a long time member of Ferndale United Methodist Church and in more recent years, Severna Park United Methodist Church, where prior to her illness, she was active in the United Methodist Women, the Craft Circle and the XYZ programs of the church. Doris was an avid reader and enjoyed travel and activities with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jack D. Lloyd; her sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Kathy Lloyd of Millersville, MD, Kenny and Joan Lloyd of Pasadena, MD and Bruce and Janice Lloyd of Solomons, MD. Doris was blessed with eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by a younger sister, Mildred B. Malone and brother, Kenny L. Boggs, both of Cumberland, MD.
