Doris J. King, 90 of Centralia, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at Odin Healthcare Center. She was born June 8, 1927 in Dahlgren, Illinois, daughter of Jasper Matthews and Jennie (Walkendorf) Matthews. She married George King on September 3, 1947  and he preceded her in death in June of 1988.

She is survived by two daughters: Kathy Bellamy of San Antonio, TX and Karen Morton of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren: Joel Bellamy, Jason Morton and Jenna Coiro; five great-grandchildren: Kayla Bellamy, Benjamin Morton, and Niccolo Coiro,  Aidan Thomas and Kiley Thomas; two brothers and three sisters: Maurine Seibert and husband Ron of Collinsville, Jerry Matthews and wife Mary of St. Louis, Norman Matthews, Sr. and wife Dottie of Centralia, Janet Stemler and husband Willis of Waterloo, and Donna Wright and husband John of Mission Viejo, CA; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters: Sabina Burnside and husband Bill and Mildred and husband Jim Taylor, and a nephew: Norman “Butch” Matthews, Jr. Doris worked at Dr. Junidi’s office as the office manager for many years. She was an active member of Calumet Street Christian Church in Centralia for many years. She was a volunteer for Reading Link and the Centralia Cultural Society. She enjoyed cooking, flowers, bird watching and she was an avid reader.
