Doris J. Cooper, 71, of Chapin, IL died Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville, IL.
She was born July 5, 1937 in Chambersburg, IL; the daughter of Chester N. and Rovia Drake Griffin. She married Lyndell Cooper on June 5, 1960 in Chapin and he survives.
She is also survived by a daughter, Sheree West (husband, David) of Chapin; three sons, Kendall Cooper (wife, Pam) of Chapin, Gary Cooper (wife, Becky) of South Jacksonville, and John Cooper of Chapin; nine grandchildren; three great grandsons; a sister, Susie Simpson (husband, Larry) of Chapin; a brother, Tom Griffin (wife, Lori) of Beardstown; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter.
Mrs. Cooper was a graduate of Chapin High School and was employed at Farmers State Bank and Trust Company for over 25 years. She was a member of Chapin Christian Church and Starlite Campers Club at Lake Jacksonville. She enjoyed camping and fishing in her spare time.
