Doris J. Chambers, 85, of Freeport, died June 2, 2005 at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born October 6, 1919 in Freeport she was the daughter of Harry and Jennie (Fogel) Strohecker Sr.She worked at W.T. Rawleigh, Garrity Drug Store, and then 22 years as secretary to the traffic manager at Micro Switch retiring in 1986.Her memberships included lifetime member of First Lutheran Church, Priscilla Club, and U and I Club.
Surviving is her daughter, Denise Padfield (George) Kinney of Ridott; 2 sons, David (Margaret) Chambers of Lena and Dean (Diane) Chambers of Pearl City; 1 brother, Harry (Nadine) Strohecker Jr of Freeport; 2 sisters, Betty Johnson and Katherine Kuhlemeier both of Pearl City; 7 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister; 2 grandchildren; and her son in-law.
