Doris Ellen Smith, 93, of Anderson, passed away October 1, 2020 at Prairie Lakes Health Campus in Noblesville, IN. She was born on August 24, 1927 in Asheville, North Carolina to Verna and William Ballard.
Doris graduated from Anderson High School in 1945 and retired as an operator from the Anderson Telephone Company. Doris enjoyed shopping, reading, gardening and being around her family.
Doris is survived by her loving grandchildren; Justin Smith and Kirsten (Johnathon) Brown; great-grandchildren, Silas Percifield, Harper Kueppers, Luna Brown and Hazel Brown; and her sister, Laura Wolfington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Verna and William Ballard; husband, Harold Smith; daughter, Terri Percifield, and her sister, Billie June Ballard.
