Doris Brennan Taftville- Doris E. (Peck) Brennan, 79, of Wequonnoc Village passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 11, 2012. She was born on November 9, 1932 in Norwich. Doris was united in marriage to James T. Brennan, Sr. on November 22, 1951 at St. Mary’s Church in Greeneville. James predeceased her on February 6, 1988. Doris graduated from Elizabeth Street School in 1946, and from the Norwich Free Academy in 1950. She was an employee of Chelsea Groton Savings Bank form 1982-1992 as an Operations Department Clerk. She was devoted and loving mother to her four children. She took great pride in raising her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting. Doris was the beloved mother of four children, James T. Brennan, Jr. of Griswold, Kathleen Barnard and her husband Clyde of Norwich, Brian Brennan and his wife Doreen of Taftville, and Deborah LaChance and her husband Charles of Norwich. She is also survived by one brother, Thomas A. Brennan, Jr. and his wife Joan of Oakdale, and a nephew, Thomas A. Brennan III and wife Lisa and family of Belmont, Massachusetts. Doris had ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a special friend and companion, Anthony Zommer.
