Doris Brand Sauser, age 91, of Greensboro, GA passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro, GA.  Born in Grayson, GA on May 10, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Guy Brand and Bama Maude Couch Brand.  On December 21, 1945, she married Henry Calvin Grainger and later married William Irwin Sauser, Sr. on April 19, 1980.  Most of her life, she resided in metro Atlanta before moving to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL in 1980. She returned to Stockbridge, GA in 1991 to live at The Villages at Eagles Landing, and in June of 2016 she moved to an assisted living community at The Harbor at Harmony Crossing in Eatonton, GA. Her chosen career was as an insurance underwriter, retiring from The Continental Insurance Company.  Doris served as President of the Atlanta Insurance Women’s Club in 1972 and was awarded Insurance Woman of the Year in 1974. She enjoyed a second “career” working with her son’s firm, Skyline Courier & Logistics, as office manager until one month shy of her 80th birthday.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah G. Payne and her husband Marvin; a son, John L. Grainger and his wife Donna; grandchildren, Jennifer Payne Bedenbaugh and her husband Craig, Joshua L. Grainger, T J Schott, Tiffany Blair, and Brandy Sisson; great grandchildren, Jackson Bedenbaugh and Cannon Bedenbaugh; two stepchildren, William I. Sauser, Jr. and Sandra Sauser; other relatives and friends.
