Doris Ann Johnson Towles Cooper, 74, of Killingworth, wife of the late Jesse Cooper, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Middlesex Hospital. Born on July 10, 1941 in Avalon, VA, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel and Laura (Nelson) Johnson. Doris graduated from Northumberland High School in Virginia and attended Middlesex Community College. She was employed at E.I.S. Corp in Berlin and retired from Zygo Corp in Middlefield. Doris is survived by two sons, Charles W. Towles of Killingworth and Gregory M. Towles of Hartford; two brothers, Samuel Johnson and his wife, Rosalie and Franklin Johnson and his wife, Gloria, all of Middletown; a sister, Thelma Vency of Callao, VA and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her husband and parents, Doris was predeceased by three sisters, Juanita Parriotte, Josephine Coleman and Virginia Mae Johnson and four brothers, Ernest, Garnett, Charles, and William Johnson.
