Doris Arlene Hanson Van Fleet of Lakewood, CO passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at the age of 94. Daughter of the late John & Emma Hanson of Waukon, IA. Born in Harpers Ferry, IA. Graduated from Waterville High in 1941 and obtained her bachelor’s at Iowa State University. She then continued her education and received a degree from the University of Michigan as a registered dietitian. Doris worked as a dietitian at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital in Pueblo, CO before transferring in 1949 to Rose Medical Center in Denver, CO. There she became head dietitian and retired after 34 years. Doris loved, painting, gardening, meeting people and cooking. Everyone loved to eat and be entertained at Doris & Gene’s!
