Doreen Martin, 51, of Peabody, passed away Sunday, January 19th after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. Doreen was raised in Tewksbury and lived in Saugus before settling in Peabody to raise her children. Wife of Ray Martin, Jr. , Doreen was the loving mother of Paul and Heather. She was the daughter of Ed and Doris Sipowicz of Cape Cod and was also survived by her brother Ed of Shrewsbury and sister Stacey of Madison, CT. Doreen graduated from Tewksbury High School and the University of Lowell with a degree in Business Management. She worked at Asahi America in Malden before retiring to raise children. Doreen will best be remembered for her constant smile, her love of her children and her perpetually positive outlook. After being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2011, Doreen refused to let cancer define her or slow her down. Choosing to keep her battle private, Doreen never gave up and broke all odds, surviving close to nine years. Doreen enjoyed traveling to the Smokey Mountains and the Southwest US, horseback riding, zip-lining and any activity with her kids.
