Dorathy E. Early, beloved wife and mother, age 77, went to be with her Lord Jesus early Sunday morning, Oct. 13, 2013, at Twin Cities Hospital, Niceville, Florida. She was surrounded by her children at the time of death. Dorathy was born in Sprott Alabama, Jan 19th 1936, and graduated from Uniontown High School in 1954. She attended Business School and later College and graduated with an AA from Canal Zone College and in 1973 from the University of Southern Mississippi with a BS degree in Education. Dorathy was an avid swimmer and swam in several senior events. She ensured that all of her children were active on the swim team and encouraged them to pursue their educational interests. She also encouraged her children to learn about the surrounding culture and explore the world around them.
Dorathy was an Air Force wife and traveled throughout the world until she settled in the Fort Walton Beach area in 1974 and became involved in Real Estate. Dorathy was always an active and caring member of the community.
She is survived by her husband William (Bill) of 58 years, her six children: Diana Motter and her husband Rick of Shalimar, FL.; Jan Guindon and her husband Greg of Fort Pierce, FL; Mike Early of Niceville, Fl.; Glenna Parson of Fort Walton Beach, Fl; Jim Early and his wife Tina of Charleston, SC and Marty Early and his wife Kathryn of Milton, FL. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister Stella McCauley of Anniston, AL and her brother Larry Swindal of Anniston, AL.
