Upon graduation, she moved to Santa Monica, California to live with relatives. She returned to San Diego in 1957, where she was re-united with Leroy John Taylor and began a three year courtship. They were united in Holy Matrimony on November 5, 1960. From this union was born two sons, John A. Taylor and Michael R. Taylor.

During the 1970s, she was active in the community, devoting her time to Skyline Pop Warner and Little League. Dora’s family consisted of many nieces, nephews, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, along with two daughter-in-laws. During her life, she had many close and dear friends. DoDo was always there to offer her help and support.

Her health began to decline, but she kept her waking trust and faith in the Lord. Her motto was, “Wait on the Lord”. On December 31, 2012, Dora was called home to rest by the Lord. She will be missed by many, remembered by all, a wonderful and cherished life that was completed. Dora always wanted to hear, “Well done thy good and faithful servant.”
