Dora Lee Passey Smith Caldwell, age 85, of Ovid, Idaho, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2017. She was the daughter of Leo Fowler Passey and Ida Susan Howell. She was born and raised on the farm in Lanark, Idaho. This is where she learned to work hard on the family farm and also cared for her younger siblings.

She was the fifth of eight children. She attended the little two room school house where she was the only girl in her grade with nine boys.

She started working at the age of 14, this was the beginning of her work history which continued for most of her life. She worked for M H Kings, Safeway, Thiel & Olsen Bros, IGA and she owned and operated the Montgomery Wards Sales Agency for 20 years. She gained a love for people through her associations at Montgomery Wards.

She married Leo LeGrand Smith on March 14, 1950, in Ogden, Utah. Together they had four children. DeAnn Nichols (Ernest), Jan Robinson (Eldon), Ricky P. Smith (Rhonda), Patsy Lee Boehme (Gene).
