Dora Belle (Palmer) Callaway of Fort Lupton, Colorado passed away August 13, 2015 at Good Samaritan Society (Bonell Community) in Greeley, Colorado at the age of 82.

Dora was born on January 18th, 1933 in Mineola, Missouri to Samuel Smith and Mary Elizabeth (Morris) Palmer. She attended Montgomery County schools through grade 10, and on November 12th, 1949, she married Charles Cleveland Callaway of Montgomery City, Missouri. Chuck and Dora lived in Montgomery City until 1966 when they moved their family to Fort Collins, Colorado. They moved to Fort Lupton, Colorado in 1968.

Dora worked a variety of jobs to help support her family, including Nickerson Farms in Loveland and Colorado State University in Fort Collins. She earned her real estate license in 1984 and was a realtor in the Fort Lupton-Brighton area.

Dora was well-known for her various ‘home making skills’ such as home canning vegetables and fruits, knitting and crochet, patchwork quilts, and hand-painted wooden crafts. Dora was a ‘caretaker’ in the truest sense of the word – she provided in-home care for her father, mother, husband, daughter, and several extended family members during illness and injury. She also served as a volunteer for the Colorado SHARE program for many years.

Dora is survived by her children – son, Tom (Millie) Callaway of Fort Lupton; son, Dick (Linda) Callaway of Fort Lupton; son, Bill (Lynn) Callaway of Greeley, Colorado; daughter, Cathy (Terry) Campbell of Mead, Colorado; son, Dennis (Dannette) Callaway of Grand Junction, Colorado; son, Kevin (Kristan) Callaway of Brighton, Colorado; 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dora was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (2011), and daughter Connie Lea Callaway Pease (1988).
