Donovan Yingst was born to Clarence Fishborn and Thelma Gertrude (Dobkins) Yingst in Jerome, Idaho on May 9, 1927. Donovan grew up in Jerome and graduated from Jerome High School in 1946 and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho in 1950. After school, his served in the US Army and spent 17 months in Korea. He married Alice Johnstone on August 28, 1955 in Jerome, Idaho and they made their home in Boise. In 1965, they moved to Oregon and in 1970 moved to Alaska to work on the pipeline. In 1982, they returned home to Boise to retire. He enjoyed painting, doing genealogy on his computer and History of the Oregon Trail.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in law, H.F. “Deac” Rediker.
