Mr. Edger Donald “Donnie” Smith, age 65, of Huguley, Al., passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 at EAMC Lanier Hospital in Valley, Al.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Debra Smith; five children, Rodney Smith of LaGrange, Ga., Tim (Amy) Farmer of Lanett, Al., Stacey Yates of LaGrange, Ga., Jason (Buffy) Smith of Kings Gap, N.C., and Chad (Kim) Smith of Valley, Al.; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Ronnie (Faye) Smith of LaGrange, Ga. and Ferlon (Cathy) Carter of Franklin, Ga. ; four sisters, Diane (Freddie) Lane of LaGrange, Ga., Faye (Mike) Moore of Standing Rock, Al., Judy (Billy) Freeman of Huguley, AL., Kathy (Mark) Johnson of Pensacola, Fl.; uncle, Calvin (Kay) Smith of Washington, D.C. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Word Smith, Oliver Dean Smith, and Eddie Carter.
Mr. Smith was born on October 31, 1948 in LaGrange, Ga. to the late Edgar Smith and Edna Vivian Fincher. He was a member of Freedom Worship Center. He loved his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed singing gospel music. He was a member of the Freedom Worship Center and the Lanett Masonic Lodge #656.
