Donna J. Wright Strope, 80, of Alexander, IL died Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.
She was born in rural Literberry, IL, the daughter of George B. and Eva Lee Hull Wright.
She is survived by a daughter, Becky Strope (companion, Michael Stubblefield) of Alexander; two grandchildren, David Chingman (wife, Michelle) of Carlinville and Audrey Chlarson (husband, Jason) of Hawaii; seven great grandchildren, Alma and Dalton Chingman of LaGrange, KY, Klayton, Greycin and Charlee Chingman of Carlinville, and Logan and Jenna Chlarson of Hawaii; a sister, Doe Kemper (deceased husband, Tillman Jr.) of Alexander; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda Lee Chingman and her husband, Nick; four sisters, Peggy Ann Wright, Linda Lee Wright, Betty McFadden, and Shirley Spradlin (surviving husband, John of Jacksonville); and nine brothers, Robert, Warren, Dean, Bill, Ray, Reuel, Gail, Jerry, and Harold Wright (surviving wife, Naomi of Jacksonville).
Donna was a 1954 graduate of Franklin High School and was employed at AC-Humko in Jacksonville for 36 years. She was a member of the former Alexander United Methodist Church and the VFW Post #1379 Ladies Auxiliary. An avid vegetable and flower gardener, Donna was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Fighting Illini, and auto racing.
