Donna M. Walker, age 80, of Humboldt, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.

Donna was born in Jefferson, IA on March 9, 1933 to William and Wilma Gustoff. Donna was the second oldest of five children. She attended elementary and high school in Jefferson, IA and graduated in 1950. After graduating, she was united in marriage to Harold (Red) Walker on December 30, 1950. From this marriage four daughters were born: Rita, Pamela, Debora, and Darcy. The family resided in Scranton, IA until 1958 when the family moved to the Gilmore City area. After living in the area for a while, the family moved to Ogden, IA in the year of 1968. Donna was the manager of Pete’s Truck Stop for four years. After that, the family moved to Humboldt in 1972 where they kept permanent residence.

Donna was employed at the North Care Center and even after retiring, she continued to the assist the care center patients on the bus. Donna enjoyed gardening, growing indoor and outdoor plants, going to Ez-Trim and exercising with her friends, getting her hair done, being a mom, grandma, and great-grandma, and especially spending time with her family who were everything to her.

Donna is survived by her daugters: Pam Porter (Leroy Young) of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Deb Sundine (Bernie Fulkerth) of Alta, Iowa and Darcy Holland of Dakota City, Iowa; grandchildren: Cory (Brenda) Porter of Churdan, Dawn (Don) Thompson of Humboldt, Iowa, Shannon (Angie) Sundine of Storm Lake, Iowa, Shawn (Stacy) Sundine of Hudson, Iowa, Davis Holland of Humboldt, Iowa, Kirstie Holland (Robbye Ron) of Fort Dodge, Iowa; great-grandchildren: Kylie, Caleb, Drew, Maddie, Ryan and Alex; brothers: Bob (Joyce) Gustoff of Solon, Iowa and Rick (Deb) Gustoff of Boone, Iowa; a sister- in- law Mary Jane Gustoff of Center Point, Iowa and numerous other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Rita; parents; a granddaughter; a brother and a sister; one niece and two nephews.
