Donna was born April 30, 1943 in Denver, Colorado. She was proud to be a native of Colorado. Donna graduated from North High School where she was a Cheerleader and Senior year Prom Queen in 1961. She soon met Rod and at the age of 23 they married on December 10, 1966. Donna became the Mother of four children and embraced them as her own.
Donna always had a love for cats, both big and small. She trained one, Tippy, to ring a bell at the back door when he wanted out. She also loved Bengal Tigers and was finally able to see one up close, nose to nose!
You could be sure to enjoy a wonderful party as she loved to entertain. Her Christmas Eve parties were the hit of the holiday season. She and her sister Suzie would enthusiastically perform “Noel” each year even though neither of them could carry a tune.
Donna successfully organized several golf tournaments, known as “The Lady Bug” to raise money for the American Cancer Society. She was very artistic with talents including painting, ceramics and decorated sweat shirts for every occasion.
Donna became a grandma at the age of 37 and loved the title “Grandma Deenie”. She eventually had 13 grandkids and loved every minute of being a grandma, taking each child on a special birthday shopping trip, sleep overs and “Camp Grandma” with the girls. At the age of 62 she was blessed to become “Great Grandma Deenie”.
Over the years she was an avid golfer and Denver Broncos fan. Donna never missed a broncos game, either at Mile High Stadium or at home. She also enjoyed Super Bowl parties for her many friends.
For the last few years she was stricken with Rheumatoid Arthritis and was not able to do many of the things she loved. As hard as it is for us to say goodbye, we are thankful that she is pain free and now watching over all of us, as she always did throughout her life.
