Donna O. Carnahan, age 95 of Sanford, died Sunday evening November 1, 2015 at Brittany Manor.
The daughter of the late Clayton O. and Cora E. (Shell) Southwell was born in Gladwin County on April 24, 1920 where she was raised and educated. Donna was the owner of Donna Village Grill from 1970 to 1973 she also had her own Tax Service for 8 years and did waitress work for many years. On August 29, 1953 in Flint Donna married William Carnahan and after 36 years of marriage he died on June 23, 1988.
Surviving are her sons, Millard “Roy” (Margaret) Birdsall of Harrison, Thomas (Linda) Carnahan of Davidson; daughters, Judith (Ernest) Keeler of Flushing, Patricia Weeks of Clio, Teresa (Ann) Waltz of Indianapolis, Indiana; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brothers, Boyd Southwell of Afton, Michigan; sisters, Coralee Porter of Onaway, Mi.; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Donna was preceded in death by daughters, Marjorie McDonald, Beverly Carnahan-Fletcher, Diane Carnahan; granddaughter Marjorie K. McDonald of which she was the caretaker for many years; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Bernard, Neil, Mark, Dale Southwell; sisters, Betty Thompson, Marvel Hilgeman.
