Donna May Conrad passed away peacefully at home on October 21, 2021, after an almost 3-year struggle with GBM cancer. Since doctors discovered the inoperable brain tumor, Donna continued to beat the odds and expectations of her doctors by living an almost normal life up to the point she passed on.
Donna Conrad was born in Tacoma, Washington in 1952. The beautiful daughter of Lewis and Marilyn Conrad, her family moved to Alaska in 1959.
After working for Arco Petroleum at the North Slope, Donna attended and graduated from the University of Alaska with a degree in Accounting and a degree for Management Information Systems.
Donna will always be remembered as a world traveler, who would regularly travel to such places as China, Egypt, Europe, and many other countries. Donna was an avid student of science and enjoyed visiting museums, planetariums, and sites of interest during her travels around the world. Other interests included counted cross stitch, movies, reading and enjoying fun nights of board gaming with friends.
Even though Donna was a quiet person, she had a strong personal commitment to excel any task she attempted, and it empowered her to develop many long-lasting friendships. Donna’s incredible character also translated to making many good friends through on-line gaming, even in other countries.
Donna and her husband met late in life; but all their friends quickly noticed both Donna and Joseph were completely devoted and shared an unconditional love for each other during their 22 years of marriage.
Donna Conrad is preceded in death by her parents Lewis J. Conrad and Marilyn Conrad. She is survived by her husband Joseph Begay.
