Donna died Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Countryside Home, Madison.
Donna was born July 7, 1932 to Alder & Ruth (Olson) Anderson in Spencer, NE. She grew up an attended school in Spencer.
Donna was stricken with polio in July of 1949 and was unable to attend school her senior year, yet still overcame and walked across the stage with the assistance of her father for her high school graduation in 1950 at Spencer High School. She also graduated from School of Commerce in Omaha, NE.
She married Kenneth (Pete) Mavis August 14, 1952 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Norfolk, NE. They lived in Meadow Grove before moving to Madison where they raised their family.
Donna was employed as bookkeeper and office manager for over 40 years at Lutheran Community Hospital in Norfolk. After retirement, she continued to work at Madison Senior Center.
Donna is survived by her children: Marilyn (Dave) Samuelson of Madison, Dick (Kim) Mavis of Lincoln; 5 grandchildren, Rich (Melissa) Samuelson, Mike (Jennice) Samuelson, Jared (Laura) Samuelson, Kiersten (Taylor) Van Loon, Morgan Mavis, 5 great grandchildren Kinley, Paige, Aubrey, Emery and Barrett and a sister Leona Garthwaite of Rockford, Il.
She was preceded in death by parents, her husband Pete, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
