Donna Marlene Reed, 80, of Clarksburg passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Serenity Hope Assisted Living, from an extended illness, with her family and caregivers at her side.
She was born November 2, 1935 in Salem, WV; daughter of the late Aime Jr. and Mable J. (Bennett) Fontaine.
Marlene is survived by two sons, Richard “Rick” Reed and family Velinda McKinney and their daughter, Kathy Baldini; Doug and Crista Reed and their daughter, Emily Reed; many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Reed; one brother, W. Paul Fontaine; two sisters, Ethel Fontaine, Helen Naedele.
Marlene graduated from Victory High School in 1953. She retired from C&P/AT&T as a telephone operator and supervisor. She was an active member of the West Virginia Telephone Pioneers, and Belgian Club. She was also a member of the VFW, where she was a Ladies Auxiliary past president. She enjoyed dancing, cooking and being social with friends and family. Marlene will be missed by friends, relatives, classmates, and all who knew her. She was a giving and loving woman.
