Donna Mae Stoffer, 84, of Salem, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in Salem, Ohio.
Donna graduated from Salem Senior High School – Class of 1951 and was involved in the women’s athletic programs, including the G.A.A. – Girls Athletic Association. As a mother, she was a huge influencer and supporter of her son’s athletic career, which made her an All-Star mother for the entire Quaker Nation and Penguin Nation.
Her career started at Haldi’s Shoe Store in downtown Salem, then progressed as a long term telephone operator with Ohio Bell and AT&T for 30+ years. Donna was a beloved member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and conducted church readings. She was an active member of the Red Hat Club and the Christian Women’s Club.
She enjoyed dancing, singing and pantomiming and brought joy and love to all that she touched. Donna’s most treasured things were her son Dayne, friends, family and the entire Salem community which provided them with love and support throughout the years.
